When can you use this Service?

Our collection service can be used by contracted customers in any or all of the following situations:-

Pre-Employment: Collection of samples for all prospective employees, contract staff, agency and third party workers.

For Cause Testing: Collection of samples when an accident/incident occurs and there are reasonable grounds to suspect that an action or omission by an employee that led to the accident and was as a result of substance misuse. 

This process is undertaken as part of a company accident investigation procedure.  Any accident which requires notification under RIDDOR (1995) will constitute sufficient grounds for substance misuse testing. For cause testing can also arise when there is reasonable suspicion that an employee has been misusing alcohol or drugs and should be defined within a company substance misuse policy.

Random Testing: Collection of samples as defined within a company substance misuse policy (if applicable).

Follow-up Testing: An employee who has been tested positive for drugs or alcohol may be subjected to further periodic testing to ensure that the employee is complying with any course of rehabilitation that has been prescribed (e.g. where an employee has completed a rehabilitation programme and it is necessary to check progress).
