Advice and Counselling
Advice and Counselling should be seen as an integral part of a welfare based substance misuse policy (drug and alcohol) policy.
Most company policies will include services for employees, who seek help with or are identified as having a drug or alcohol problem.
For welfare purposes expert counselling and rehabilitation services should be made available to all employees who come forward seeking help with an alcohol and/or drugs problem. This may also be available if it is identified as a requirement of the Company Disciplinary Procedure.
Telephone and national one-to-one services (please see below) are confidential and operate to established Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapist (BACP) guidelines.
